Usage:

Windows users:
Revved will automatically start when your computer starts up. Internet acceleration will begin as soon as you open your browser. On most Windows platforms (XP, 2000, ME) an icon will appear in the lower right corner of the screen when Revved is in use. On all other Windows platforms, you can verify that Revved is functioning by selecting Revved Status from the pop-up menu.

Now browse the web as you normally would. When finished, simply close your web browser and Revved will remain idle in your system tray. If you would like to stop the application after browsing, select Revved from the pop-up menu if you want to exit the application all together, click Exit from the pop-up menu by right-clicking on the icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen.

Mac OS X users:
After you dialup to Evansville Online, just double-click the "Revved" icon in your Applications folder to start the acceleration. You can verify that Revved is functioning by viewing its status in the Revved application window. Now browse the web as you normally would. You can start and stop the acceleration at any time by either using the menu option or by simply starting or quitting the Revved application itself.

Troubleshooting:

The following is a list of possible error messages you could encounter and steps that you can take to resolve the issue.

"Revved cannot connect to the Revved Service..."
Check that you have successfully connected to the Internet in your usual manner. For example, did your dial-up connection successfully connect? This step is independent of whether or not you launch Revved. If you are running firewall software, make sure that a firewall rule is present that allows access to the Remote Server Port (located in the Settings dialog). If those steps don't work, try uninstalling Revved and then re-install it.

"The Revved Service does not allow connections from your current IP address..."
The most common reason you would receive this error is when you connect to the Internet using a different ISP than Evansville Online. You can only use Revved along with your Evansville Online member account.

"Your username and/or password were not accepted by the Revved Service..."
The login credentials you specified on the "Settings" - "Connection" tab were not valid. You must enter a valid username and password to use the Revved Service.

"The Revved Service could not be started due to an authentication timeout ..."
There are a number of things to try to resolve this error:

  • Ensure that the authentication information provided to you upon signup has been keyed in correctly.
  • Try reconnecting to Evansville Online.
  • If the problem persists contact Customer Service at 800-599-1000 for assistance.

"Revved cannot be started due to an internal error ..."
If you receive this error, first try restarting your machine. This will restart the Revved service. If the problem persists please contact Customer Service at 800-599-1000.

"Revved was unable to load the sdicore.dll library ..."
The likely cause of this error is that you accidentally deleted a file or resource required by Revved. Fully uninstall and then re-install Revved to ensure it is installed properly and all its files are present.

If you receive any other error message or simply need assistance using Revved, please contact Customer Service at 800-599-1000.
